Our Mission

At Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS, Sanstha Nandurbar, our mission is grounded in hope, dignity, and unwavering support for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. Since our foundation in December 2006, we have been committed to transforming the lives of people living with HIV by not just addressing their health needs, but also championing their right to live with respect, purpose, and equal opportunity.

We work every day to improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Our approach is not just about medical support – it is about holistic care. It’s about creating an environment where people can live positively, thrive emotionally, and stand empowered socially and economically.

What Drives Us

We believe that every individual deserves a life of dignity and equality, regardless of their HIV status. Our work is centered around ensuring this belief translates into tangible support and sustainable change.

Our Core Mission

  • To enhance the happiness, health, and longevity of individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

  • To provide comprehensive care and support services, including mental, physical, and social wellness.

  • To raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote community education on HIV/AIDS and de-addiction.

  • To empower people through legal rights awareness, self-reliance programs, and government welfare linkages.

  • To be a bridge between the community and accessible, affordable healthcare and support.

How We Serve the Community

1. Care and Support

Through our “Vihaan Care and Support Center” project, operational since June 2013, we provide home visits, counseling, nutritional support, and connect clients with ART (Anti-Retroviral Therapy) services.

Our outreach includes people who are often left behind – orphan children, widows, migrants, and high-risk groups. We provide school supplies, food kits, clothes, and emotional support – especially during crises like COVID-19.

2. Community Mobilization

We actively engage local communities through awareness drives, street plays, and rallies to spread accurate information about HIV prevention, de-addiction, and sexual health. We believe change starts with conversation.

3. Advocacy and Legal Aid

We champion the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS. We work to ensure they can access essential schemes like the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, Widow Pension, BPL Ration Cards, and more. We also help protect personal rights through confidential legal support.

4. Promoting Balanced Living

Good health isn’t just about medicine – it’s about a balanced diet, emotional wellbeing, and healthy choices. That’s why we conduct awareness sessions on nutrition and provide support to widows and children with resources like sarees, food, and educational material.

Special Focus: High-Risk Groups and Targeted Interventions

Through our Targeted Intervention Projects (funded by MSACS), we work extensively in Dhule district with marginalized communities like MSM (Men having Sex with Men), transgender individuals, female sex workers, truckers, and migrants. Our aim is early detection of HIV, consistent care, and reduced transmission through:

  • HIV and Syphilis testing

  • STI treatment and counseling

  • Condom promotion and free distribution

  • Linkages to social protection schemes

  • Behavior change communication and safe practices

Our goal is to stop new infections and empower communities to live safe, informed, and healthy lives.

A Community-Led Vision

What makes us different is that we are led by the community we serve. Two of our Governing Council members have been involved in the organization for over 18 years. We are not just service providers – we are survivors, advocates, friends, and family.

From organizing health camps for industrial workers, pap smear testing, to home-delivered ART medication, our efforts go beyond clinic walls. We meet people where they are, and walk beside them every step of the way.

Looking Forward

Our mission doesn’t end with service. It evolves every day with new challenges, new lives touched, and new communities reached. Whether through education, empowerment, or empathy, we remain committed to creating a world where people living with HIV/AIDS are no longer seen by their diagnosis, but by their strength.

We are the Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS, Sanstha Nandurbar — and we will never stop caring.
